Marc Starts the First BRL-V6 Raceweekend with a Victory and a Second Place (with pictures)
The last time we saw Marc racing on the Zolder track was during the 24h of Zolder in 2007. He did win that race and today, April 26th 2009, “The Goose” continued with his winning streak during the first BRL races of the season.
Report race 1
On Sunday morning, Marc started from pole with his Weytech Racing car. The track was drying and Marc led the race from start to finish. During the last laps it looked like things could go wrong because of a problem with the catalyst. Luckily the problem wasn’t that big, so Marc managed to keep ahead of Donald Molenaar. A brilliant comeback of “The Goose” on Belgian soil !

Report race 2
The BRL rules say that the top 8 of the first race start in inverse order for the second race. This ment Marc had to start from 8th position for race 2. After one lap he was already in 6th position. A little bit later Marc and his predecessor Crevels could overtake Nelson van der Pol and one lap further Marc also got by Donny Crevels, who is a former Italian Formula 3 champion. At the front of the race, there was a heavy fight between van der Ende, Molenaar and Marc’s teammate Zumbrink. “The Goose” took advantage of this to overtake van der Ende and a bit later also Zumbrink. Unfortunately the gap with Donald Molenaar was to big and Marc finished the race in second position.
