The RSR Jaguar XKR GT2 doesn’t run in qualify because of a complete check up
Because of some loss of horse power caused by a sensor failure, the RSR team decided not to start in the qualification session and give the car a complete check out. This means the Jaguar XKR GT2 will start from the back of the grid for the race.
Due to the drive line issues on Thursday the team decided to skip the first free practice session and make sure everything on the car got double checked before getting on track again. So in the last free practice session Paul did about 4-5 laps at the beginning of the session before Marc took over for the remainder of the session. After discovering the XKR GT2, he got a chance of getting a feel of the handling and soon they started fine tuning the car. With about 10 minutes to go the car lost some horse power due to a sensor failure.
As qualifying started only 15 minutes after the end of free practice, the team opted to not run in qualifying and check out the car again instead of risking further problems. The result is that Paul and Marc start from the back of the grid, but first they have another 25 minutes practice/warm-up to verify all systems.
The race starts at 2.45pm Pacific Time and will end at 6.45pm. This is from 11.45pm to 3.45am Central European Time.
