Marc ends the season with a victory and 2 podiums
Marc ends the season in beauty with a victory and two second places.
Day one in Assen and victory number one. The day started of with free practice for BRL. In that first session Marc came away with P1. Next was the first race in the Dutch Supercar Challenge. Donald, his co-driver started from the back of the grid and moved up to 8th in very little time. Unfortunately just before the team planning to do a driver change Donald had to park the car with a broken drive shaft.
Next on the agenda was the DSMEC race. No practice or qualifying for Marc on Friday, so he had to discover the Porsche 996 in the second part of the race. As Oliver van Oost started the race in a very good an professional way, the car #200 moved into the top 3 before the driver change. Marc was very pleased after having taken over that he could keep up a nice pace and drive very consistent lap times. At the end of the race Marc found himself in P4 and fist in class 2. Victory and double points was exactly what the team needed to maintain and even better their leading position for the championship with one race remaining. “A big thank you to the RS Racing Power Cars for the confidensce as I fully understand that letting a driver race the car who never sat in it, is not very usual !“, says Marc, “Thanks once again and good luck to Ruben and Olivier for the last race in Zolder.“
Prior to the win, Marc qualified his #15 car in second place ! So on Sunday Marc started the first BRL-V6 race on the front row. He also finished the race in second position. Then there was the second DSC race with Donald Molenaar which they ended in 14th position. And last but not least there was the final BRL-V6 race of the season, which Marc also ended in second position after starting from 7th place on the grid.
We’ll keep you informed in the coming days about the negotiations for the 2010 season and a big thanks from Marc to everyone for all your support during the 2009 season !
